Best of 2015: Weddings

Happy New Year!!! It's officially 2016! I spent my NYE shooting an awesome Gatsby-themed wedding at Metropolitan Hall in downtown C'ville to end the season!! And just like that, the year was over.

Ever since I started wedding photography, I have been so blessed with the people I have met. Luckily, 2015 was no different and I will never forget these special days. When I say I'm inspired by my couples, I'm not just saying that to make my couples feel good or just to have something to write. I genuinely am inspired by these people. Their love for each other is heartwarming and the way they treat me is touching. I know when a lot of my viewers look at my wedding photos, they see people they don't know with a story they haven't heard but I see their personalities, their love for one another, their families, how they met, their handmade wedding dress, their first kiss ever saved for their ceremony, their tears as they read letters to each other, hilarious toasts by friends, the groom getting down on one knee to give his bride a second wedding band, sweet words exchanged during a first look, and the list goes on. I'm working on a little project and I asked my mom to go through some of my photos and pick her favorites. I realized as I watched her scroll through that I couldn't help but say, "That was the couple who prayed with me before their engagement session" or "That's the bride who made her own bouquet." I'm invested in these people and I'm proud of them. Maybe that's weird but I think it's what makes my job enjoyable. Wedding days are not all fun and games but when I come home to look at the photos, I am filled with joy. I love the people I get to photograph and without their kindness, trust, and love, I wouldn't be doing this. I've been so lucky to work with the greatest couples in the world and this is my tribute to them! Happy New Year, everyone!!
