I can't believe my first wedding of the year has come and gone!! Katie and Bryan's day was one full of joy and I'm happy I got to kick off this season with their family and friends who were truly invested in Katie and Bryan's marriage. At engagement sessions I get a little peek into a couple's life and their love for one another but it's at the wedding where I really see who they are, with their family and friends all around. I loved the speeches at their reception and getting to hear the whole story about how "fate," as Bryan would call it, brought him and Katie together after many years apart. It was New Year's Eve and Bryan was in charge of bringing all the balloons to the house where the party was. He had a car full of balloons and not just any balloons but those huge ones that are impossible to tame. He gets out of the car, the balloons blowing all around him as he attempts to make his way towards the door, where he sees a familiar face laughing at him. It was Katie. Bryan shared that he had known of Katie for a while and always thought she was beautiful but never thought he was her type, since she had always dated the "short artsy guys." Ha! But here they were, together on New Year's Eve where their relationship started and Katie proved Bryan wrong about him not being her type. Bryan's love for Katie is so beautiful. Watching him cry at the ceremony as she walked down the aisle and listening to him talk about how much he loved her at the reception made my entire week. There's nothing more special for a wedding photographer than getting to capture that. Katie and Bryan, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day!! It was a blast! Meredith,
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I scrolled down to the second and third images I gasped inside. These are simply beautiful. But what made me gasp was that I immediately felt as if I was there myself, vividly. Your images have always been lovely, but non only are these remarkably bright and warm - they tell Katie and Bryan's story so vibrantly. You have risen to a new level in your photography. Keep telling the stories Jesus writes, Meredith. You have an impact. God is using you to touch His people, and that matters. Keep loving people through the lens.
Oh my goodness, don't be anonymous, whoever you are!! That's the nicest comment I've ever gotten!! <3 <3 Thank you so much!!
