Outfit XIV

I love the snow. It's incredibly magical and beautiful and every time it does snow, I get giddy like a little girl who just received her first teddy bear. Okay, maybe that was a bad example.... I guess I just loved stuffed animals as a kid. Anyway... moving on.

It snowed yesterday/last night and I woke up to a winter wonderland. A very cold winter wonderland. I wanted to go to the gym this morning and was determined the snow wouldn't ruin my plans. I got up early, got dressed in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt (because I'm dumb), walked outside, tried opening my car door... It was frozen. I had to use the majority of my morning energy (which isn't much) to pry it open and by the time I did that, not only were my hands/legs/arms frozen, all the snow fell into my car when the door opened. Hahaha! But I still got in my car. I was determined to get to the gym. Can you tell? Haha. So if you choose not to sit in your warm house snuggled in a blanket on a snow day like I usually do, apparently things get a little more complicated.

I found this post in my drafts from the summer and I figured now would be a good time to share. :) Here's a nice summery outfit to get you excited to spring and warmer weather! It won't be long!

Shirt - T.J. Maxx
Skirt - Bittersweet

Home Sweet Home

I'm home. Home sweet home. As much as Alabama did start to feel like home, there's nothing quite like my room, my friends, my coffee, and my bed. Haha. My trip to Alabama was a work trip but it was still one of the best experiences I've had in a while. As I sat on that airplane home, I plastered my face against the cool glass of one of the many oval windows and sat in awe of the beauty of life, not only admiring what I saw below me but admiring what God has done in my life so far. I say so often how blessed I am and maybe I overuse that word to the point where it's cliche but I seriously mean it. I don't take anything for granted, or at least I try not to. I love life. I love what I do. I love each day. This year has already blown me away and I'm only a month in. God is so good. Live life to the fullest, smile everyday, speak to strangers, be kind, dream big, and stop fearing. These are things I've tried to do this year. You should too.

Alabama

I've been in Alabama for a week now. I'm style assisting with Plow & Hearth on their summer catalog and although I've been working practically nonstop for the past few days, I did have some time right after I flew in last week to take some iPhone shots. I didn't bring my Mark III because it isn't insured yet but it has worked out fine so far because my iPhone is always on me at location, whereas my Mark III wouldn't be. So far, my highlights of the trip have been seeing about ten dolphins and experiencing the sunset tonight. I'm so thankful to have this opportunity to get to travel. I've blogged so much lately about traveling and I finally got my chance. This year is definitely going to be one of seeing new places and I am jumping for joy because of it. But anyway, here's a little look into my life lately.

A Dam Adventure

Jessie is headed off to Guatemala in just a few days for a whole semester so that called for one last adventure together before she left. I have the best friends in the entire world. Anyone who would go to a random dam with me on the windiest, coldest day of life is pretty cool. I'm so thankful for these two, for their love, their ability to make me laugh, their adventurous spirits, their love for the Lord, their encouragement, their wisdom, their beautiful hearts, and their friendship.

Thanks for taking this shot of me, Becca!
