Lexie | Crozet, Virginia Senior Portrait Photographer

My session with Lexie is one I will never forget. I hadn't ever met Lexie before but I was so excited to meet her in Crozet and shoot her portraits! She wanted to go to Mint Springs Park where I took Julia's photos so that's what we planned. I met her at this very beautiful park that you'd think would be completely safe at about 3 o'clock and we started shooting not long after. Things were going great and thirty minutes in, Lexie, her mom, and I started walking back to our cars because I usually do thirty minutes per outfit and she was going to change. So we're almost to the cars and Lexie notices it first. The driver's window to their car had been smashed, leaving glass all over the ground and inside the car. We rush to the door in a panic, so many things going through our heads. Who did this? Who saw this? What was stolen? And then we see that my car's passenger window had been broken too. So much was running through my head in those first seconds of discovering our cars were broken into that I didn't even know what to do. When I realized my purse was stolen, I started racking my brain for what was in there. The only real valuable in there was a $100 bill, thankfully. Then I remembered I had my camera bag in my trunk... I may have almost thrown up. Haha. I had most of my gear on me but I did have my new Canon 1V (film camera) and my 100mm macro lens, along with memory cards, and other little things in there. I opened my trunk and when I saw it was still there, I couldn't even be mad my purse was stolen. It could have been so much worse for me. Sure, camera gear can be replaced but it's worth a little more than a $100 bill. Haha. Anyway, the police came, didn't do a whole lot besides ask us what was missing, and then we went home confused, angry, and upset, but safe. I guess the moral of the story is not to leave purses visible in your cars! Or just take them with you.

So after all that, we finally rescheduled and finished Lexie's session on Monday and I have been dying to share these pictures!! Lexie, despite all that happened, I'm so glad I got to meet you! You were a blast to photograph! I hope you love your pictures!
