Heather + Franklin | Keswick, Virginia Wedding Photographer

The wedding photography community is for the most part a great thing to be a part of. I don't know if I'm just lucky but I have yet to work with someone I don't like. I love meeting new photographers, seeing how they work, and being able to contribute to their portfolio by second shooting at weddings!

Back in the summer, I got an email from Morgan Trinker, a photographer in Alabama, asking if I'd be willing to second shoot for her Charlottesville wedding in the fall. Uhhh, yes. I was so excited to meet Morgan and shoot with her! We got coffee the morning of the wedding and by the time the day started, I already felt like her friend. Such a great idea!

So we started out at Keswick Hall where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready and after drooling over the beautiful property (and shooting, of course), I headed over to Castle Hill Cider to hang out with the guys! Usually as a second shooter, I cover the guys while the main shooter gets the girls. I love it because the guys are so chill and they have so much fun with my crazy ideas. :) By the time I finished shooting the guys, Morgan had gotten to Castle Hill and we spent the next hour shooting the amazing details in the reception hall. I have NEVER in my life seen such an impeccably styled room. It was outstanding. I was in heaven. This wedding was such a blast to second shoot on and I was so honored to be a part of the day. Morgan was so fun to shoot with and I can't wait until the next time! Here are the images I shot throughout the day and be sure to check out Morgan's blog post too! Enjoy!

Vera Wang gown.... Amazing.
Obviously I enjoy photographing shoes. And these were Louboutins so I find nothing wrong with it! :)

Lots of kiddos!

HA! Selfies on the wedding day are a must.

Flower petals to stand on. How much better does it get?!

She arrived in that beautiful car! Such a great entrance!

They had an oyster bar!

Cigar bar!!
