My Remaining Days

All my beach trips are over, which means summer is coming to an end. As sad as that is, I feel so rejuvenated after all I took part in this summer and I'm ready for fall, senior portraits, and making some changes for my business! I'm blessed that I'm learning what's good for myself and how to push myself out of my comfort zone and I can only hope I do more of that in the months to come!

Here are some photos from the last week, but this time they aren't iPhone photos. :) Enjoy the trip through my eyes!

The water was actually turquoise!

Paige took me down to the point, where the sound and the ocean meet and it was probably the most peaceful, beautiful thing I've ever seen, especially at sunset.

Paige | Swansboro, North Carolina Portrait Photographer

Sometimes meeting new people can be intimidating but the great part about social media is that you get to see a little piece into someone's life before you even meet them. Paige and I first found each other on Instagram a little less than a year ago and have been following each other since. We're both wedding photographers with similar shooting styles so I knew the next time I went on vacation at Emerald Isle, I had to meet her! It worked out that we ended up getting together for coffee on Friday, the day before I left and it was the perfect way to end my trip. We talked over iced hazelnut coffee about gear, film, business, life, and the in between. There aren't many photographers my age in my area so when I connect with ones it's so nice.

After we finished our coffee, we decided we'd do a little shooting even though it wasn't in the original plan. We went over to Swansboro, Paige's hometown, to pick up her camera, and then she took me to three beautiful different locations! We shot each other (with our cameras) back and forth until the light was gone! Paige claims this was her first official time being in front of the camera but I had a hard time believing that! You would never know! Paige, thank you so much for spending your day with me! It was so worth the little bit of rain we shot in and the humidity that made me look like I had just run a few miles! I can't wait to get back together!

I think she looks like Miley Cyrus here, but back when Miley Cyrus wasn't crazy yet.
