Experiencing God In Different Ways

This morning at Small Group we were talking about how everyone experiences God in different ways. Some people feel him strongly through music, some through seeing the rain fall or the sun rise, some through serving on a mission's trip, some through being with people and learning from them, and some through being alone. For those who do believe in God, we all have those moments where we stop and realize how big God is and how amazing it is that he created us to minister differently. Most often when I'm driving through a beautiful area is when I feel this way.

The other day I made the hour and a half trip to Orange, VA and I don't know why I had never been there before because it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. I got to see the sunrise on the way over the mountain and then while riding the curvy back roads to Orange, I was able to admire the incredible view of the sky meeting the rolling hills. The peacefulness of there not being a distinct neighborhood was so inspiring. Neighborhoods are great but personally, I would love nothing more than to live in a place where I could walk into my backyard and take a picture of tall grass and horses.

Having these moments is something we should revel in. When do you feel God the strongest?

  2. I feel the Lord strongest when I'm alone (doing my devotions), and also when I pray. There's no better feeling in the world than to cast your burdens unto Him. {Psalm 55:22}

  3. Lovely blog, my friend! You have a very good eye with your camera. I adore it.

    I am with you -- I feel God the most when I am out in the middle of nowhere, and when I am in solitude in general. I love hearing Him whispering messages to me in the wind :)

  5. I agree with you. I find Him in beauty. And also I find Him in love, like when a little sister and brother are having so much fun playing? That kind of thing...
