The beach house is a little quieter on this rainy afternoon. My aunt has gone back to Charlotte and my mom and I are just hanging out while Webb, Blaine, and dad go see a movie. The sky is clearing up slightly which I'm thankful for but for now, I'm going to recount my day yesterday.
Yesterday was probably the best day at the beach so far, what with the stunning weather and perfect temperatures. I went for my longest run/walk ever of 3.6 miles to the pier and back. It was hard but I realize now why people love beach runs. The wind whipping my face kept me cool and the hard sand worked my legs. When I got back to our little camp on the beach, I laid under an umbrella and took in the sounds of the ocean. There's nothing quite like the waves hitting land and slowly rolling into the shore.
We came in later, took our showers, and dressed up for a nice night in Beaufort, our family's favorite town to visit when we come to Emerald Isle. There are adorable cottage homes, shops, fun boat rides, and delicious food. It was a good night full of pictures, laughter, and pure enjoyment. Everything is better at the beach, eh?
I was literally going to comment and tell you to visit the Spouter Inn! Isn't it gorgeous there? It's seriously one of my favorite restaurants ever... I can't wait to go back there in a few weeks :)

ReplyDeleteHello, Mere! I loved all of these pictures, I love the turquoise and sandy colors, I can smell and feel the beach!!! You made me want to go to the beach right now!! Seriously! I just wonder what kind of focusing you used in the purple flowers, I mean what do you do to get everything in focus, and, how do you get your pics ready for the web so that they can look very sharp and colorized so perfectly? A lot of questions? ha ha ha, Thank´s in advance! Hugs! :)
