My vacation is over. We left this morning around ten and are finally home after the seven-hour drive. There's a certain sadness that washes over me when I have to leave a peaceful getaway and come home to the routine of life. I don't mind my bed and being back in my clean house but it's still a little depressing.
My week really was amazing, though. I could not have asked for anything better. It rained a few days but on those days, we were kept occupied by the Olympics, especially when gymnastics, diving, and swimming were on. Some nights I stayed up until midnight to watch everyone compete. But beyond the Olympics, I sat on the sandy beach for six hours a day, reading on my Kindle, and getting as much enjoyment out of the week as I could. Those peaceful walks with the sand between my toes and rushing water around my ankles are missed but because college is lurking in the near future, I truly was ready to come home after a week.
I have seventeen days until move-in day and it's really daunting. I'm scared. I'm terrified. I'm nervous. And I'm a little excited. Until I have to really think about it, I'm going to enjoy my last days at home. I hope everyone is having a great end of the summer and that it's been as entertaining as mine. What a good summer.
Now to share the last of my beach pictures and a little video.

You will have such fun at college. Don't fret over it! And I love the bright, sunny vacation photos.
