A Vacation At the Beach

Friday was the day that my family left for the start of our vacation. Mom, dad, and I spent Friday night with my grandparents in North Carolina and then got up and drove to Emerald Isle. I've been so excited about this beach trip since the day my dad booked a house a few months ago. Because I hadn't been on vacation in three years, I was probably more excited for this trip than any other.

The drive to the beach was exciting, as always, and was especially so because the weather was nice. I rolled my window down most of the drive and just enjoyed the warm, salty breeze blowing my hair every which way. I didn't care because I was on the way to the beach, where you know no one and life is carefree. We arrived at the cottage, unloaded all our many suitcases, and enjoyed relaxing while waiting on my brothers to arrive. Pizza was devoured that night and after some watching of the Olympics, we were off to our beds. I woke up first yesterday morning and made muffins as I waited for everyone else to wake up. The weather was beautiful and I was thrilled. We laid out on the beach for most of the day and soaked up the sun until we were sun-kissed. A delicious meal of fajitas and taco salad was eaten and soon after, night #2 was over.

Unfortunately, today has been full of rain and on-and-off power outages, but that's okay because I was able to upload and edit my pictures! I'm praying today is the only day it rains but until I find out, here is a look into the first few days of my beach trip.

First, Second, Third, and Fourth

Today's post is going to be full of a bunch of randomness. So let's get started.

First, I wanted to share a couple songs with you. When I went to the Death Cab for Cutie concert a couple weeks ago, the opening band was called Surfer Blood. Yeah, I don't know why. They didn't look like surfers. But anyway, I didn't love the band and I didn't think their performance was incredible but I did love their song called "Floating Vibes." I also was just introduced to a guy named Jason Walker and I have fallen in love with his song called "Down." You should definitely check out both of those. :)

Second, I have been keeping track of all the random things people have searched to find my blog and after getting a good list, I thought I'd share. They make me laugh.

• heri poter
• sledge deer tumblr
• gambar sazki gomes
• senior picture in laundromat
• orange juice photography
• unwrapped Starburst
• s'mores wallpaper
• VSCO Instagram recipes

Don't they make you laugh? It's funny to see how people find my blog because I can always connect it to something but it's still so random. I have yet to figure out what gambar sazki gomes are, though.

Third, back in the winter, I worked on a project for Staunton Nissan. It was such a wonderful experience and I'm still in awe that I was asked to take pictures for the commercials that were put together by Performace Marketing. I finally got the finished commercials so I thought I'd share one. :)

Fourth, here are some of my recent Instagrams. Enjoy! And I really hope everyone is having a wonderful week! I'm getting excited for my vacation so it's definitely been a good week for me. :)

Wisdom Teeth

This is the week I had to say goodbye to my three wisdom teeth that were oh so full of wisdom. :( I don't know why we have wisdom teeth if they just have to be removed. It really is beyond me, but I'm glad it's over with.

Well, actually, I'm already exaggerating. Yes, I'm glad it's over with but I probably had the best wisdom teeth surgery that has ever been done. I must have had the best doctor on the face of the planet also because I had absolutely NO swelling and I haven't felt a bit of pain yet. YAY. I even ate pasta the day of my surgery and had Sweet Frog today. The worst part was getting up out of my bed too fast yesterday, blacking out, feeling nauseous, and sweating bullets for no reason at all. Thankfully, that only lasted a few minutes. Haha. :)

Not realizing I would have this great of an experience, I lived up the days before my surgery with my best friend who I hadn't seen in a year! I met Hampton when I was about three and no matter how long it is between seeing each other, everything is always the same. Once a best friend, always a best friend. We chatted about college and music, watched the Vampire Diaries, ate way too much food with sugar in it, and we spent the day at a lovely pool that I wish I was a member of. It was splendid and I'm so glad I finally was able to see her. :)

Flying By

Summer is seriously flying by. I've been out of school since mid-May and it's already mid-July. It's hard for me to believe but having so much ahead of me is keeping my spirits high. I thought at this point in my life, going off to college would be my worst nightmare. I've always thought that. I can't say I'm going to love college because I'm not there yet but the fact that I'm even slightly excited about it is a blessing. I got into the dorm I applied to, my roommate is awesome, and everything is purchased that I need for my room. The only thing I need to do now is my summer work..... Although I'm not looking forward to that, I can clearly see that God has prepared me and given me everything I need for this next phase in my life.

Life has been hectic this summer with work, seeing friends, and getting everything ready for college but I'm so glad it has been that way. I got my new camera at a perfect time and I've been able to document most everything I've done this summer and share it on the blog which has been lovely.

The past week has involved fireworks for the 4th of July, extra work because my wisdom teeth are coming out on Wednesday, eating Sweet Frog, a Death Cab for Cutie concert, consuming a lot of free Chick-fil-A, shopping, working out, and playing on my new laptop. Can you tell it's been a good week? So good, in fact, that I haven't had time to take many pictures. It's a shorter post in terms of pictures this week but I hope you enjoy what's here.

What's the best thing you've done so far this summer?
