Trying to Stay Alive

Dearest blog followers, I have been a failure of a blogger and I am so sorry. I haven't posted many personal photos lately and it literally depresses me. BUT, I have been beyond busy and I promise that's the truth. Semesters just changed a few weeks ago at school and since then, I have homework to do every day and sitting down to relax doesn't happen often.

This semester, I'm taking Photo II, Government, Yearbook, and I'm also taking an online class through a nearby community college to get some credits. It's insane. That list of classes sounds SO easy and it really isn't horrible but I ALWAYS have work for them. For Photo, I have to do a creative assignment in a sketchbook two times a week, for Government, I have about two quizzes and one test every week, for Yearbook, I just stress myself out, and for my online English class, I have so much time-consuming work that I don't even have time to breathe. Hahahaha. This is so pitiful but English 112 is by far the hardest class I've ever taken and the fact that it's online makes it a billion times more confusing. But that's okay. I am constantly reminding myself that it's not the end of the world and that I will get through it, even if I end up with a bad grade. IT'S OKAY, MEREDITH.

So that's a little update on my life. Mostly just me complaining but I have compiled a list of things I'm excited for that will lift my spirits when I'm feeling down.

1. Making prints in my Photo class. I am SOOOO excited to be back in the darkroom. It can be frustrating when you have to print twenty times before getting the correct contrast but once you get it right, it feels so good!! For the project we're working on now, we got to shoot a roll of film in a toy camera (kind of like a Diana), develop it, and now we're making prints! It's awesome. So I'm really excited about my next print which is of the Nissan logo on my car. :)
2. The online magazine that I volunteer as a photographer for is upgrading, improving, and changing many things!! I'm hoping that's not a secret but since I'm not sure, I won't say any more! But I'm excited to be a part of that change! :)
3. Finishing the Pretty Little Liars books. I carve out about an hour of time every night to do some pleasure reading and the PLL books are what I've been reading. I just started the seventh one last night!!! IT'S GETTING SO GOOD.
4. Canon's release of a new camera. Okay, well this hasn't happened yet but my brother, along with a lot of other people, has predicted that Canon will be coming out with a camera to replace the 5D Mark II and I cannot wait. I've wanted that camera for so long but I've been waiting for the new one so hopefully it won't be wayyyy more expensive.
5. The release of the Hunger Games and the Vow!!!!! That is all that needs to be said.

Well, that's it for today, folks. Hope you all enjoy the weekend! And below is a picture of what's been keeping me alive: green tea. Nom nommm.

What's been keeping you busy this past week?

I just love that moment when you swish your print around in the developer and the image starts to appear. so much magic.

  2. School is cool & all but sometimes you just have to breathe deep & say "God? I give this to you." and so your best. Know what I mean?
