Things to Change

My life has at least settled down to the point where I don't have something to do 24/7. And trust me, there's nothing better than some free time. First semester is almost over at BRCC so that class is coming to an end, I'm close to finishing college applications, and I don't have many more pictures to take for this part of the year. Thankfully, since I have some time, I'm going to try to find some inspiration and do some fun things while Thanksgiving and Christmas break are near.

I know everyone has a different way to do this, but I have some ideas as to how to get my mind off of not being good enough and how to put it in a place where I have fun doing the little things.

I've realized over the past three years that what sparks creativity and life in someone is TRAVELING. I absolutely love to travel and yet, I haven't been on vacation in three years. I'm not trying to complain but it is so hard. All I want to do is go to the beach.

But while I can't do that, I've made a list of activities and various other things that will keep me occupied and give me some direction in the inspiration part of life.

1. Listen to plenty of good music and sing along. I've been listening to the Footloose soundtrack and the new Florence + the Machine album. There's nothing better.
2. READ and get off the computer. I love to read. I go through periods of time where I don't want to read and where I do. Lately, all I want to do is finish the series I'm on and start another. I'm getting close.
3. Cut out inspiring pictures in really cool magazines. I have a magazine that comes ever so often to my house and it's called WSJ Magazine. It's actually the Wall Street Journal's magazine, I think. But it has some incredible pictures in it and something I've never done is make a collage of great photos, so I can't wait.
4. Get on Pinterest, add photos to my boards, and get ideas of what to photograph.
5. Watch good movies and t.v. on my bed with a warm blanket over my legs and a mug of hot, green tea. For some reason, that makes me feel awesome. I also love taking note of how movies and shows are made/put together.
6. Go on mini vacations, even if just for a day, and take pictures while I'm there. I think I've convinced mom to take a day trip to Virginia Beach sometime soon! :) Hopefully we can do it before it gets super cold!

Okay, so that's my list. I needed to type that out so I would not only remember, but just to push myself to actually do it. Hope this helped anyone who also feels the same way. Have a fantastic Saturday! It sure is beautiful here in the V-A today.
