Iced Coffee

It's possible that I blog more about Starbucks and coffee than I do about anything else. Haha. And that's because I love coffee. :) I think I blog about it not only because I like sharing my life but because I enjoy reading other blogs that talk about food, for example, and make me wish I had that type of food right then. Hehe. :D

Lately, I've been kind of obsessed with iced coffee. I love frappuccinos but I feel better about myself when I don't drink them. Haha. So I've replaced them with iced coffee. This is what I've been ordering for the past few weeks. Prepare yourselves. I get a venti vanilla iced coffee with whole milk and classic syrup. I think everything I order at coffee shops always ends up being super long. The baristas probably hate me. But it's yummy. You should try it. :D

I Heart Faces: People's Choice

This week, the I Heart Faces theme is People's Choice. You're supposed to pick your favorite photo that includes a face that was taken in the month of May. Then if I read this correctly on the site, other people entering in the contest will vote on their favorites! :) I'm excited! As some of you know, I took some pictures of Leah about a week ago and I'm really excited about them! I'm so happy with how they turned out and I'm excited I have the opportunity to enter one in this contest! Leah, once again, thanks for being such a good little model!! I had an incredibly tough time picking through my twenty favorites, but I just couldn't resist this one. :D The lighting and the coloring makes me heart jump for joy.

Photoshoot With Leah

AHH!!! I haven't taken portraits in SO long. I thought I forgot how to, but thankfully I didn't. :) Hehe.

Leah's a friend from school who I sadly haven't gotten to spend much time with. She's such a sweet, kind person and it sucks that we were never in classes together at school. Buuuuttt, that didn't keep us from taking pictures. Leah and I had talked about taking some pictures of each other for fun back a few months ago. Unfortunately, a few months ago it was freezing. So we decided to wait until it got warmer and yesterday was the day!! It worked out perfectly since school is just getting out and we had so much fun! :) It was nice to hang out with someone I don't often see since school likes to separate you so much. So we went out to the park, walked the trail, and took pictures along the way. Such pretty light under the trees!!! I love the woods for that reason. Leah's completely gorgeous and that helped also. She pretty much posed herself for all the pictures I took of her which always makes it super easy. And she should probably consider a modeling career. Just sayin'. But anyway, I definitely want to share my favorites from yesterday!

Leah, thanks for sitting in dirt, walking through the mud in heels, and leaning on trees with bugs and spiderwebs..... I'm a terrible person. Haha. This is what happens if you come take pictures with me. But good locations = good pictures. It's worth it. :) So again, thanks. And also, I'm totally impressed with the pictures you took of me. I sincerely appreciate that, too. I love getting pictures of myself taken since it doesn't happen often. =D. ENJOY!!!

Leah | Sneak Peek

Peter Cottontail

We call him Mr. Bun Bun. Only the cutest bunny EVER. He sits in our front yard every day around 7:00 and nibbles on his dinner. Well, more than nibbles. He must be hungry around this time of day because he rather chews incredibly fast. It's so funny. He'll lean his tiny, easily breakable head down for some green grass and when he pulls his head up to quickly down his food, he scans the yard to make sure no one is going to hurt him. Little guy is my boi. I wish I could run over and squeeze Mr. Bun Bun's fuzzy back. He makes me smile. I think if animals could talk, we'd be best friends. :D Hehehe. I seriously am obsessed with bunnies. I had one once.... Let's not talk about that, though. I might cry.

Anywho, yesterday dad called me down to look at Mr. Bun Bun. My family looks after me. They know I love him. So for once, he was far enough away from our front door so I could sneak out quietly with my camera. Bun Bun is kind of dumb because he doesn't run away until you get about two feet away from him, but that's okay. Because of that I found out he's very photogenic. And even cuter than I thought.

Dear Everyone

INSTAGRAMS! Dear everyone in the world, purchase an iPhone and download the app called Instagram. I've talked about it before but it's completely awesome. I am always taking pictures on it because it's so handy. I always have my phone with me but I don't always have my camera. So it's perfect. I would estimate I have about two hundred pictures saved on my Instagram app and every now and then I love to share some. Sooooo, here are some from a few months ago. :)

Recommending New Tunes

Getting new music is like Christmas. I eagerly pick out albums on iTunes and quickly click Buy Album. I wait for them to download and listen to them as soon as they're done. It's always something I've enjoyed. iTunes makes it so easy and that's just one of the gazillion reasons I adore Apple.

I've always loved music. It's strange because I'm not in any music group, I don't take voice lessons, and I no longer play trumpet. But I still love listening to the harmony, picking out the instruments in a song, and being able to say I heard a certain song five years before it became popular. I am constantly listening to some sort of music. In the car. At my desk. While laying outside. As I take pictures. At a concert. Even when you watch t.v. or a movie, there's background music through the whole thing. It's such a huge part of life. I don't actually think it's possible to go a whole day without hearing at least part of a song. I love that. But really, who doesn't love that?

Last week I was looking at the popular albums on iTunes and I saw one by Kate Voegele, who recently put out her first album, A Fine Mess. I bought that when it first came out and loved it! In my opinion she's incredibly talented, for being so young. The other day her new album, Gravity Happens, came out and although I haven't listened to the whole thing, I like it so far. :) So that's one I would definitely recommend.

Also, I bought the new Parachute album, The Way It Was. I hadn't heard of them before last week. I thought I had but then realized I hadn't. Well, good thing I bought the album anyway because I have never loved any band's music so much in my life. Ever. Not even kidding. I love EVERY song on the album. I can't really pinpoint why I think it's so great but it definitely is. Gahhh. I love good music. PLEASE DOWNLOAD THAT ALBUM. And listen to those music videos below. Do it, or I'll cry. Those two are my favorites from the CD. =D

I Heart Faces: Yellow

This week's theme over at I Heart Faces is Yellow. This photo was taken really recently and I had been wanting to use it for one of these contests and it worked out PERFECTLY with today's theme!! Alex is a crazy amazing dancer at Old Dominion Studios and this was taken when I did pictures for their showcase posters. There is only a hint of yellow in this picture but it's still yellow and it counts!!!

Nails

There's a first time for everything. Yesterday I went over to bring two of my friends Starbucks and we ended up going to get our nails done. Well me and Alli did. Annie opted out on such a great and fun experience. Haha. I had never gotten my nails done before because not only did I not feel like paying for it, but I had heard the polish always came off the next day. LAME. But Alli got her nails done for Prom a few weeks ago and I loved them. A lot. She got fake nail thingies, rather than just getting them painted and that seemed to work better for some reason. And they look like real nails fo sho. So I did that yesterday and it was super fun. The process is so amusing. They put this gel stuff on and it is the most entertaining thing to watch. I'm still fascinated. I just keep staring at my nails. So creepy..... I wish I could do as good of a job on myself as they do. They're so artistic. Haha. But anywhos, I wanted to take some pictures before they got ruined. Knowing me, I'll break one off while I'm sleeping or something.

Almost

Geez. One more week of school. And then I'll be a senior. I'll be getting drape pictures done, I'll have senior pictures taken, I'll be taking long, horrible tests, I'll be applying for college, I'll be declined by colleges and accepted into colleges, I'll have good and bad days, I'll make new friends, I'll lose others, I'll be walking across the stage as I graduate with the rest of the class of 2012, I'll have a graduation party, and my last summer before college will begin. It's so scary. All that stuff I listed is scary. Yeah, it makes me shiver. I don't know what I want to do. All I know is that I love to take pictures. So I'm just taking it one day at a time. :)

Since spring has begun, I've gotten my drive back to take pictures. All winter, I really struggled and never wanted to pick up my camera. I think it was because it was so cold and I kind of dislike the cold. But thankfully now it's warm and there are colorful, bright, happy flowers to take pictures of. And the light at sunset is gorgeous pretty much every day. So yesterday while I was out taking pictures of the yearbook, I took some pretty flower pictures and whatnot. These flower pictures probably get old but I love nature. So magnificent. :D

Anyway, I'm not quite sure why I rambled on about next year at the beginning of this post. I guess I'm excited even through the scariness. I'm mostly ecstatic about this summer, though. Also, I'm probably going to be super bored because I don't have a job so if you need a babysitter, please call me. Haha. No really, I will babysit your kids. :D But for now you can check out these picturesssssss!

It's the famous purple flowers! I feel like they make so many appearances on the blog. It's actually ridiculous.

Yearbook Cover

WOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOOOO! That's my excitement. A few months ago I mentioned in one of my blog posts that I was going to share a surprise towards the end of the school year but that I couldn't share it at the time because it was a big secret. Well, it's not a secret anymore!!

As I've mentioned a billion times before, I'm on the Yearbook staff and this year one of my pictures was put on the cover of the yearbook. YIPEE! Our Yearbook adviser wanted to personalize the book this year by having me take a picture of the mountains around the Waynesboro area. Sooo... I searched for quite a while with my mom and finally found the perfect spot that included mountains and a curvy road, just as I was asked. Hehe. I am very excited and I think it turned out quite nice. Also, ever since I can remember my yearbooks have been black, but this year it's white! Our rep designed the cover and it looks so nice! She did a great job and I never would've expected it to come to life like it did.

For the many people that have been asking, the picture was taken up at Blue Ridge Farm, which is part of Albemarle County and is up on Afton Mountain. If you clicked on the second link, the picture was taken on the road of that giant house. Can I even call it a house? Hahaha. I took a tour of the place a few years ago before a family moved in and it is beyond beautiful. I cannot even explain it. You can just go see for yourself. If you're interested in going on a mini roadtrip, just ask me for more detailed directions. And also, in the first link on this post, all those pictures were taken at Blue Ridge Farm. It's a gorgeous area. Can I just say we live in a beautiful place? You cannot possibly disagree that the living in the valley is perfect, even though it may be boring.
