Tomato and Mozzarella Panini

Happy New Year!!! I can't believe it's 2011. That's weird. Weird to type, weird to write, and weird to say. But anyway, to kick off the New Year, I thought I'd do something a little different. Are you ready for an epic recipe?

I haven't blogged in a while and it's strange. I haven't been doing anything at all lately, including not taking pictures. But yesterday, I was hungry and was craving a panini. That meant I had to stop being lazy watching Heroes all day because unfortunately, we don't have a Panera Bread where I could run get one. Thankfully, this panini-cooking experience went really well. A lot of times me cooking is a huge fail. But since the one I made was pretty darn good, I decided I would do a cooking post about how I made it. It's super easy. Definitely nothing crazy. People that actually know how to cook might make fun, but it's okay. Just go make one. :D. Here's what you do.

1. First things first. If you have a panini maker or a sandwich maker like this one, use it. It is a lot faster than grilling it.
2. Next, get some bread. This is from Wal Mart in the bakery section. It's an Italian loaf and it works well in the sandwich maker because the bread is thin.
3. I like to put some olive oil on the outer sides of the bread. It makes it nice and crispy. :). I just use a cooking brush to paint it on.
4. Cut your tomato, get some mozzarella cheese, and some sort of spice if you want. I use basil just because it's my fave.
5. Put everything on the bread.
6. And finally, put it in the sandwich maker, panini maker, or whatever you're using. For me, it only took about a minute and a half. Then you're done. Eat and enjoy!
