I took a picture this past weekend (the one below) that sort of made me jump up and down. It's really unique. I love it.
I've been reading John with two friends for the past ten days and although I've read John about four times before, I just now realized how much the book talks of light. Or, 'the Light.' I thought about this picture I took and an image it conveyed in my mind.
John 1:4-5 says, "In him there was life, and that life was the light of all people. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overpowered it."
John 3:21 says, "But those who follow the true way come to the light, and it shows that the things they do were done through God."
John 8:12 says, "Later, Jesus talked to the people again, saying, 'I am the light of the world. The person who follows me will never live in darkness but will have the light that gives life.'"
See a pattern? There are plenty of other instances, but these will suffice. They all basically say the same thing and I think it's important. Well, I know it is, especially since it's in the Bible about eighty times.
We should be like the picture of the light. If we have Christ in us, his Light should shine through us and radiate everywhere, in every direction, all the time.
Meredith I love this analogy you discovered. This picture is such a good example of God's light in us! You are so great Mere.
