GUESS WHAT?! My lens came in today! Wooooo!! I have been checking the order status all week and finally I checked last night and it said that it was at the post office. I wanted to drive over there and get it, but unfortunately, that was around midnight. Haha. I waited patiently this morning as I went to work and when I got home, it was laying on my doorstep. SO AWESOME! No seriously, I wouldn't have been able to wait another day. Ahaa. So ridiculous. But I tried it out as soon as I opened it and it is WONDERFUL. I love it. Soooo much. Wow. There is such a difference between this 50mm 1.4 and my other ones. So much bokeh! I loooove it. It's actually tougher to get used to than I thought though. It's a struggle to figure out what you want to focus on and also, because it's prime, I can't zoom and I have to move around. It's definitely different but I'm so excited! I can't wait to continue to learn about it! And I can't wait to try it out on a person! Haha. =).
I decided I would do a little photoshoot with all of my lenses, now that I have three! WOAH. Haha. So the first picture is of my beautiful 50mm 1.4 (the one I just got), the second is my 55-250mm telephoto, and the third is my kit lens, which is an 18-55mm (by the way, I actually have grown to love my kit lens).
And the other pictures are just random things around my house (indoors and outdoors, of course). You know? Food, glass animals (dedicated to Bentley), Sucrets boxes, bees, flowers, guitars... You get the pointtt. Basically, I'm wishing I had a sister right now, so I could take pictures of her instead of the boring things in my life. Haaa. But anyway, I just wanted to practice and get to know my new 1.4!! =).
Also, I have an update about Bentley! We ended up taking him to Virginia Tech yesterday right after I blogged because the doctor finally called. When we got there, we waited while the doctors examined him and after they finished, they told us that it would probably be best to do surgery. Sooo that's what we did. He got surgery last night and we left to come home, just praying everything would go okay. It's crazy how much people love and will do for their animals! Haha. But this morning we got a call that said everything seemed to have gone well but that they wouldn't know for sure until later. So they called again, actually just a minute ago, and the doctor said Bentley seemed to be doing great! And that we could probably bring him home in the next couple of days! WOO. Too bad when he gets home he has to be crate-rested for four weeks... Ughhh. But we're just glad everything seems to have gone well!! Thanks to all my friends that have been texting me and checking up. =). I love you guys!
And finally, here are the pictures!!
Meredith- I am SO glad to hear that Bentley is doing better!! I know how it is to watch your dog suffer, and it is very far from a fun time.
ReplyDeleteP.S. That gorgeous purple flower with the red inside is the one I was talking about the other week!
Thanks Caitlin!! We are too! I'm so excited to pick him up today!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yay! That's what I thought. It's definitely a clematis :)
