Horses, Flowers, and More

I've been so bad about blogging lately. I feel bad but it's nice to take a break from things once in a while.

I started lifeguard
ing on Saturday and it went really well! I'm excited to finally earn some money. I have too many things in store for myself. Haha.

I also really haven't been anywhere to take pictures in a long time but I went went for a walk today with my mom to a horse farm a few blocks from our house. We're probably not supposed to walk back there but we love horses so much and couldn't resist! These horses are precious. There were about eight on the farm today and a few of them came up to us so I got some great pictures! Animals seriously love my mom. As soon as she called them, they came right on over. So, I guess I should thank her for the pictures. =).

So enjoy these pictures of
not only the horses, but from the walk there and back!! I think they turned out well. =).

This makes me laugh so hard. I creeped up the bunny on the left and a minute later, the one on the right, which I think is the mom, ran after the other one and chased him/her for a good two minutes in the other yard. Mom and I are pretty sure the mom was mad that the bunny was dumb enough to sit there while I took pictures. Poor thing thought I was gonna kill her baby.

See anything strange about the next two pictures? Probably do. Don't ask me what it is, how it happened, or why it's there. We just saw this random ball hanging from the tree. And yes, it is part of the tree.

I love thisss. I wish the quality on this site wasn't so terrible.

Love the colors in this one.

I love you, baby. I wish you were my horse.

This is probably my absolutely favorite. I love the sun shining through the trees.

More Nature and the Photography Business

Well, these nature pictures are probably getting a bit old but when you don't have a person to take pictures of, nature and other things around the house are all you have to practice on!! So here I am with another post of nature and other random things outside.

Also, this is really random but I have been practicing shooting on "M" on my camera lately. It stands for "manual" and it's just what most professional photographers shoot on. You change your shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and whatnot. I usually shoot on "P" or "Av" because I'm still learning about my camera but I absolutely don't plan to shoot on "P" if I ever decide to start my own business in photography. Haha.

I read a lot of photography blogs and I read one lately that was upsetting and sort of encouraging at the same time. This person has been in the business for a few years now and is very good! I really appreciate her and her work, but her blog was about new photographers. She just talked about how anyone can get a camera and shoot on "P" and take pictures of people but how it's really unfair to the true, talented photographers. It sort of put a downer on my day because I feel like that's me. Even though I'm not exactly charging people for sessions or anything, everyone has to start somewhere and it's not easy.

I've wanted to start my own photography business for a while now but I am so new! I'm always asking questions and I mean, maybe it's not even what's planned for my life. It's just what I hope to do for now. And although there are some people out there just charging people for their pictures that don't know anything about photography, I don't think everyone is like that. And that blog came across a little harsh. So I don't know if anyone that reads this is interested in photography but I have a different message. Don't do it if you don't completely want to, but if you do want to and are excited to learn more, don't give up!!

And after the forty minute novel, we get back to my post. Hahaaaa. Here are the pictures I took yesterday. These weren't taken in manual mode but I was playing with the aperture again on "Av." =).

Yes, that is the moon. =).

Beaches

I can't express how much I love beaches!! Seriously, it's not possible. But I shall try.

I just think that the fact that God created the beach is incredible. He created them all!! And not a whole lot has changed about them. Sure, houses have been built and there are people at the beach, but the beach itself really hasn't changed since then. I think that's awesome!

Also, the waves just blow me away. Haha. Pun intended. =). But I really do think they're beautiful. The sound, the look, everything. So peaceful!! This past summer, I got up at 5:30 a.m. to enjoy the beach by myself. Yep, I really did. It was almost completely dark out and you could see the moon! I went and sat on the sand and just read my Bible. It was the best. You can't ask for anything better.

The shops and restaurants are also a favorite! Whether I buy anything or not, I love to walk around in all the cool beach shops. Especially in Beaufort, N.C. =). That's basically my favorite place ever. And I hope someday I'll get to go back, because there would be so many great picture-taking opportunities! I wish I had had my camera last summer.

But don't you agree that the beach is so awesome?! I wish I got to go more often, but then, it might not be as special when I did go, so I can't decide. Haha. Regardless, I still love it.

Here are some pictures I took with my good ol' Canon PowerShot a summer or two ago at Emerald Isle, N.C. =).

I love beach thunderstorms! Unless it rains everyday, that is.

Roadtrip Adventures

Oh goodness! Today was so much fun!!! I have been wanting to go up in the mountains and take pictures for so long but unfortunately, I don't have my license yet. Although, today I asked mom when I got up if she would drive me around the Lynchburg area to could take pictures. She said yes! And we had a lot of fun! We had some sun for a little bit but then it started to rain. We drove for a while and since the storms were scattered, I got some other chances to get out. I really enjoyed just being able to take pictures of anything and everything! It's tougher than you think to stop wherever you want on the side of the road, but my mom was a good sport. And she did take the ones of me! And did a great job! Yay!! But anyway, I hope you like them. Some of them are really random because I took them in the car when I got bored, but they're still pretty cool.

Okay, so you see this little house? Well, you can't really tell it's a house, but it is. It was on the side of the road and I thought it was super awesome! It was falling down, but that made it so much better! The funny part is that there was a satellite on the roof and mom was like, "There's probably someone living in there." Oh my gosh. Not cool, mom. Way to freak me out. Seriously.
