Walks In the Neighborhood

You know that feeling when you just want to go for a walk or something? And be by yourself? In the quiet? Well, that's how I felt earlier this morning. I went for a walk in the neighborhood with my camera. =D. I sort of succeeded in being alone (except, not really), but it wasn't too quiet. Little kids were following me on scooters, dogs barked at me when I stopped to take pictures, and cars drove by and stared at me, making me feel a little uncomfortable. Hahaha. That's what you get when living in a neighborhood..... unfortunately. But it was still fun. Here are my favorite pictures that I snapped on the walk. It seems like I run out of things to take pictures of a lot of times since I've taken so many walks in my neighborhood, but hopefully not all of these will seem familiar... :D.

Special

I really wanted to do something special for mom and dad for Christmas since we usually don't do much. Blaine came up with this genius idea that of course I loved, since it involved a camera. We haven't had a portrait done of Webb, Blaine, and I since about eight years ago. SOOOO.... we thought we would go out and take a pretty picture and put it on a canvas for them! We just did the picture a few days ago so the canvas wasn't in for Christmas Day, but we printed off a 5 X 7 for them to see. Dad cried and mom was just incredibly excited. I think we succeeded.

We went to the park early this week, searched for good light and a good location, and got Becca to take the pictures. THANK YOU BECCA. We love the pictures and YOU. But anyway, I wanted to post some of the ones she took and the one we picked (which is the first one) because I love them so much!!!! AHHH. I love gift-giving.

Cheesecake

Yes, cheesecake, but not just any cheesecake. Chocolate Tuxedo Cream cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. It's my favorite kind.

A few days ago, my brother and my dad went to Richmond to pick up some shoes. I asked them to bring me a piece of Tuxedo cheesecake. And what do they bring back? A whole Tuxedo cheesecake. YESSSS. I definitely jumped up and down. You can ask one of them. Hehe. I love cheesecake. I've had two pieces since they've brought it home and I'm surprised my heart is still beating. Oh my gosh. So much sugar. But it's so yummy. :D. Thanks dad and Blaine. You guys make me happy.

Merry Christmas

Last year all I heard was, "Happy holidays." This year, almost every person in every store or place I've been has said, "Merry Christmas." It made me smile every time. Christmas is not just a holiday; it's a celebration of Jesus' birth. And that's something to be thankful for. So..... MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope you're as thankful as I am. :D.

I'm proud to say this Christmas is a little different than all the others for me. It's the first Christmas that I really didn't want anything. I have all I need. Sure, there are things I'd like to have, but I knew I could wait until I had the money to get them. I told myself this Christmas I was going to appreciate Jesus' birth, rather than the presents. I did end up getting a few exciting things for myself (I know everything I'm getting, I THINK), my parents, and my brothers (which I'm dying for them to open), but other than that, this Christmas is not about me. Gifts are fantastic, but there are definitely more important things in life and I'm glad I've finally realized that.

But anywho, I really hope all of you have a blessed Christmas. =D. Enjoy all the food and presents and friends and snow (which I hope we get).

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS. You da best. Thanks for being born.

Looking Back On 2010

I went out to lunch with two of my friends this morning and we were talking about how I have officially had my camera for a year. Well, Christmas Day it will be a year. I've been interested in photography for a year. And boy, do I have some pictures. It's crazy how many I have taken. I've done a lot of shoots. More than I realized. I thought it would be cool if I put up my favorites from each shoot this year. I'll try to narrow it down to one or two from each shoot, but that is most likely impossible. =D. And just warning you, this post could be a little on the long side.......

But before you go look at the pictures, I want to thank everyone who reads my blog and has helped me this year. Not that I'm doing crazy things with my photography, but I have learned so much and it's because of you!!! THANK YOU. SO MUCH.

Anywho, here are my favorites from this year. I put them in order of when I took them. The first two were taken at Swannanoa in February and the last two of Nicole were taken a few days ago, in December. =D.
